Richie has already mentioned in an interview he had abadoned of different acting offers. He underlines the fact that one of the roles would have been at the side of John Travolta.
Now we know more. It's about the new musical movie "Hairspray" . The cast is awesome: Next to John Travolta acts James Marsden ("X-Man"). The role which has been offered to Richie, would have been of of the leads. Instead of Richie it's now Zac Efron's turn starring the character. Zac is known out of the succesful teen movie "High School Musical".
The film will be release in summer 2007.

awww iam so glad he turned it down he couldnt leave us5 he has just got back from the whole marta thing ! i couldnt go through the whole richie leavin thing again ! but it would be nice for him to be noticed in the world !
but not because then loads of girls wud 'LOVE' him coz he is totally gorgeous also i would not like to see him kiss other girls in the cinema i wud end up breakin the screen ! lol xx

I didnt know he was asked to play Link(Zac Efron's charator). Jesse McCartney was also going to be him, apparently, JMac had his heart set on it, but Zac stole it from him

Well, yeah it would of been great for him, but maybe he just wants to sing for a while until they have some time.
It is hard to do acting and singing. some manage both like Jesse McCartney, but others cant do both.

I dunno. I dont think so. Hang on, when was the 'High School Musical' tour? Cause Zac couldnt do the tour as he was filming this. So, Drew Speeler had to play Zac(Drew was Zacs singing voice in some of the songs. well, was blended in with Zacs voice)
